black label is gold lamé…

yep, that’s right: ban.do produces more than just sequined hearts and pom pom flowers. we understand that it’s been a full year and a half since we launched a new black label line. so if you can’t remember the one-of-a-kind pieces we design and create by hand in our los angeles studio, we won’t blame you. that just means you should probably get ready to have your mind blown today.

we approached this collection with more of a lighthearted attitude, creating pieces that really pack a punch. in the past our black label collections have had a serious vintage vibe. although we still lusted after some unique vintage elements, we really wanted these pieces to feel fresh. a big burst of fresh air. a bit more rock and roll. i mean c’mon, we’re a company that is laced in color and irreverence, so our pieces shouldn’t be too serious, right?

we’ve also decided that we can’t sell black label pieces only once a year. from now on, expect to see newly created pieces up on the site on a regular basis. that’s fresh eye candy for you to lust after (and purchase) every month.

oh, and we can’t go another moment without say a huge thank you to all the people who made our black label photos so beautiful: jen pinkston styled each shot perfectly; our friend max wanger knocked the photography out of the park; grace phillips and jess wilcox rocked our pretty model’s hair and makeup; and madeline poole took care of the nail art. kind of a rock star team, don’t you think?

      it takes years of practice.

  2. Each piece is more gorgeous than the last! I think my favorites are the Riot hair combs. And, I also love the “Black Label is…” descriptions. Pop Rocks don’t get the love they deserve.

Congratulations on the Black Label Launch!
